You could spend days, weeks, perhaps even months building the perfect displaybase for a model. Or it could be a just for-fun weekend project. That's what modeler Scott T. Hards had in mind when he decided to throw together a 1/35 scale diorama using some extant models and materials you could pick up in one trip to your local hobby shop or hardware store.

I used this how to guide for building a 1/72 Afrika Korp diorama 2 years ago. I put the finished diorama in a local build contest and it won First Place in the diorama category all scales!!! Good stuff!

Excellent step by step guide. These kinds of articles are critical for some of us newbies getting into modeling. Thankyou FSM for making it accessible, I will be using the advise here on my first diorama this weekend !
