Do-it-yourself paint charts

RELATED TOPICS: MODELING TOOLS | PAINTING
Paint charts can be very inaccurate, depending on printing processes or monitor calibrations. To really see how a color looks when it is dry, I took an 8" x 10" styrene sheet and painted pinkie nail-sized splotches of color on it. Now I can compare  the dry paint’s color with my references and see differences between brands versions of the same color.

I record information about the paint on an attached sheet of paper, including brand, color name and number, and whether it is acrylic or enamel.
