Goo Gone removes excess paint

RELATED TOPICS: MODELING TOOLS | PAINTING
I use Goo Gone on a cotton swab to carefully remove masking tape residue from Tamiya acrylic finishes, and there is no effect on the paint. On a recent model, I noticed a couple of areas where a coat of Model Master enamel gloss black had gotten smudged. On a hunch, I rubbed the area with a little Goo Gone, and it removed the paint without affecting the Tamiya acrylic underneath. I wiped excess Goo Gone off the model with a paper towel and water.
