Pen helps check seams

RELATED TOPICS: MODELING TOOLS | SANDING
In Questions & Answers in the February 2011 FSM, Dave Thewlis asked for a “lightweight way to check flaws in filling and sanding.” Mark Hembree suggested he brush a little metallic paint on the suspect areas. I have an easier way.

I use Sharpie Metallic Silver markers. The silver ink is very thin and will not leave a ridge that may show under the paint — no brushes to clean, no paint bottles to spill. This marker is also very handy for adding paint chips to aircraft and armor models.
